Tom and Steph met through friends while Tom was on holiday in Antigua, and their proposal took place in an equally exotic location, with Tom choosing Santorini as his proposal spot.

Tom proposed in front of everyone in an exclusive restaurant on the island, and Steph was so overcome with surprise she found herself unable to get out of her seat.
Steph and Tom chose the Turtle Inn Resort in Placencia, Belize in Central America to hold their wedding.

"It's right on the beach, and is very quiet and tranquil," says Steph. "It was the perfect size to host our wedding as it was very welcoming and calming and instantly feels like home."

"We live here in Placencia, so organising the wedding here was easier than having it anywhere else. The weather is great here year round, and there are lots of activities so we knew our guests would enjoy it."
Steph and Tom had a relaxed and informal ceremony on the beach, releasing butterflies after the vows for an extra special touch.

"We decorated with a boho beach style, using nude shades like white, ivory and baby pink," explains Steph.

"After dinner we released wish lanterns and in the evening we had beautiful lights over the pool."
The table decorations
"Each table had a white table cloth, with a big palm leaf in the middle with roses at the top," shares Steph.

"We wanted it to be very relaxed and for everyone to have a good time."

"Our table plan was shown on a large blackboard at the entrance to the dining room. We planned the tables so that everyone on them had something in common or knew each other."

"The tables were named after something important to us, or from a memorable time, such as the name of our grandparents or the name of a club we went to on a group holiday."

READ MORE: 24 unique wedding table name ideas
The floral swing
Steph and her bridesmaids decorated a swing using anything they found in the organic garden at the venue, ranging from spinach, chillies, hibiscus flowers and much more.

The swing proved to be a beautiful spot for photographs.
The bridal party
Steph wore a beautifully simplistic Couture Silk Leanne wedding dress courtesy of Catherine Deane.

"I knew it was the one as soon as I tried it on; it looked and felt gorgeous," says Steph.

"My look was inspired by Placencia Belize, where I live, and is relaxed, peaceful and simply beautiful."

"I chose the colour white for my bridesmaid dresses because I believe it represents peace, calm and looks beautiful on the beach," explains Steph.

"My bridesmaids picked their own dresses, and went barefoot. They also wore their hair however they felt comfortable, accessorised with a chain with a turquoise stone in the middle."
The bridal shoes
Steph wore a pair of glittering wedding sandals from Forever Soles, to complement her laid back beach style.

READ MORE: 21 beautiful beach wedding shoes
Steph's bouquet included white and pink baby roses, wrapped in a tropical leaf, while the other floral arrangements from the day included baby hibiscus, and her flower crown comprised of roses, orchids, gypsophila.
Unique bridesmaid bouquets
Steph eschewed traditional bouquets, and instead opted to have her bridesmaids walk down the aisle with pineapples, sourced form the local market.

READ MORE: Unusual wedding flower and bouquet ideas

The wedding cake
Steph and Tom opted to have a tower of cupcakes as their wedding cakes, with flavours to suit all of their guests.

"The cakes were in seven flavours; chocolate, lemon, almond, carrot, walnut, coffee and orange," says Steph.

"All of them have dulce de leche in the middle and were decorated with flowers and butterflies."

READ MORE: Why cupcakes are the new wedding cake
The most memorable moments
"I meant so much to us to see all of our family arriving from such far-flung destinations," reminisces Steph.

"I was so happy that my 88-year-old grandmother made is across land and sea to be there."

"I'll also always remember my dad walking me down the aisle to my future husband, and saying our vows to one another."
